With a population that is over 375,000, Zurich is a city is Switzerland and also the largest. This city is located 30 kilometers north of the Alps, the city is situated besides Lake Zurich and river Limmat surrounded by hills.

Numerous train stations are situated in Zurich of which Zurich Hauptbahnhof is the main providing transportation between European venues. The city airport provides international travel which is located 10 kilometers north-east in the area of Kloten.

S-Bahn (local trains), trams and buses serve the city internally. Boats are operational from the lake and river away from the dry land and the city also has a cable car and funicular railway in it. The transport system will not let you down as it is frequent and efficient, not a surprising thing as the national systems is very good across Switzerland.

While you are traveling around the city, you will get a feeling as if everything is working correctly. You will feel safer in Switzerland than any other European country and here, Zurich is no exception. You may not find such extravagant buildings in Zurich like the ones in Paris, Madrid or London, however, in the way which it is set, Zurich appears very attractive

There are many other attractions in the city which include numerous churches. Grossmunster, being built in 820 and the Fraumunster, built in 874 but renovated in 2004 are the important churches in Zurich. St. Peter is also important and has the world’s largest church clock face.

Another attraction in the city is Lake Zurich. You can also find various parks around this lake which creates nice places to relax in a good weather. You will also find suitable swimming areas, but at times the water tends to get cold.

Switzerland is known to be expensive. The food you buy in big global chain restaurants may not be of the same value as that of the local food venues. Although the price may be high, it is worth giving a visit to Zurich as this city is full of attractive views and a friendly nature.
